Before you ask
PLEASE use the search box at the top of the right hand column. I’m honestly not joking when I say that as many as half of the questions I get every day are, in fact, already answered in an article here on Ask Leo!.
The number one reason for not getting an answer is not giving me enough information to go on. PLEASE be complete. That means the version of any software involved (particularly Windows), the full text of any error messages, the specific make and model of computer if that’s going to apply and of course detailed steps to reproduce the problem you’re seeing.
I still can’t answer every question. Because of the number of questions I get every day there’s simply no way I can respond to them all. For tips on getting your question answered please read Why didn’t you answer my question?.
Because I’m running way, way behind answering, I’ve temporarily stopped taking new questions via this page.
In general your best bet it to use the search box at the upper right of the page. I’m not joking when I say that as many as half of the questions I get every day are, in fact, already answered in an article here on Ask Leo!.
- If you are a newsletter subscriber you can still ask. Near the bottom of every emailed newsletter is a link to an ask-a-question form just for you. You can also simply reply to any newsletter. If you’re not a newsletter subscriber, you can subscribe right here.
- If you’ve purchased one of my books, there’s information in the book on how to ask a question. If you’ve registered your purchase and have access to the members-only site then there’s a form to submit your question there as well. If you’d like to purchase a book, you can do that right here.
- If you’re a patron of Ask Leo!, you, too, have a mechanism to ask your question. It varies depending on your level of patronage, so be sure to check your welcome email when you signed up. Not yet a Patron? Become one here: Ask Leo! on Patreon.
Thanks for understanding,
