While using voice chat, my PC restarts after about 10 minutes
(behaves as if somebody pressed reset button). I have tried many applications
(yahoo, msn, skype) but the problem happens for all. I have also disengaged my
screen saver etc. thinking that there might be some interference after 15 mins
of inactivity of keyboard … no solution. I use a Pentium IV with Windows XP
and creative sound card. Can you throw some light?
Perhaps. Certainly trying all those different applications was a very good
thing to try – you’ve eliminated a number of possible culprits right off the
bat. Same for the screen saver.

Personally, I would suspect the device drivers. More specifically, it sounds
like a form of buffer over- or under-run. There are various ways that the
digital data could be getting buffered in memory that could account for a crash
at a consistent length like 10 minutes.
I would start with a visit to windows
update for any of the latest updates there, specifically looking for device
driver updates. Then I’d also visit the website for your computer manufacturer
and/or the manufacturer of the sound card and look for updated drivers there as
well.

Whenever I use any voice chat application my computer, after some time, takes a restart with a blue screen and the log report says it has something to do with the drivers. I have tried updating the driver for my “Conexant AC-Link Audio” but still face the same problem. I have reduced the hardware acceleration to NONE but still the same. I would appreciate if someone can help in this regard
