Not that I’m aware of. Make sure you have the option to save your sent mail selected – it may be off by default.

  1. Sent mail should be in a folder labeled “sent mail”. No, you don’t need to use your address book to send an email. Just hit compose and type the email addresses into the To field.

  2. When I click on my e-mail folder, and choose sent mail, there is never anything there. My husband is also experiencing the same problem. How do fix this?

  3. I do not understand how to find/ save my sent emails. We have always had AOL and when we would send email, we could just go to sent email and there it was, easy as could be. I feel like going back to AOL as it seemed so user friendly. Please help me understand my mail better. Thank you, Linda

  4. I, too, have had problems with email not showing up in my “sent mail” folder. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. I have the option checked to save copies of outgoing mail in my “sent mail” folder, yet it still acts up. I have tried to find an answer on Microsoft’s FAQ page but so far haven’t been able to find an answer. One guy suggested deleting the “sent mail” folder and creating a new one, but his instructions were flawed and although I waded through them it didn’t work. Isn’t there any Microsoft experts out there who can figure this one out?

    Thanks
    Don

  5. My email sent only goes to the first person that was sent. Do I have to put each one in individually. Ever since I got that securitiy thing it doesn’t pop up “mail sent.” How do I get rid of the new security that I added. Big mistake. I believe it has also screwed up my puzzles. what is going on with AOL. Is it time to change?

  7. I sent an email. I did not have the “save to sent mail folder,” or the “send copy” checked. It is gone, not in the save mail and not in the inbox.
I don’t want to stop it from going to the addressee, I just want to get a copy so I can save it.
    Possible?

  10. The sent mail save option should be a no brainer. Why can’t I have a default to save messages as Microsoft Outlook does? I feel it very important to know what I e-mail to someone else. Please tell me how to choose this option.

    Thanks.

  11. I agree that there should be a default, but as Iv’e said before, it turns out there doesn’t seem to be a default setting. You have to remember to do it each time.

  13. Same problem, suddenly. Never had this problem before, but now with a very important message, it is not in my SENT folder. I sent it again, but same thing. What’s going on? If they have received it twice anyway, I am going to look a fool.

  14. Until recently, my sent messages showed up in my Sent Messages folder. However, they have recently NOT been showing up — has there been a change in the mail tool?

Also, the FAQs mention a default setting but I sure can’t find one — anyone know how to toggle the default?

  15. If ‘sent messages’ is off by default, how do I turn it on?
‘sent messages’ is on in ‘my computer’ but not a folder in ‘MSN’ folders.
    Thanks,

  16. I also am not seeing sent mail… anywhere in my MSN mail set up. Under all three of my email addresses, sent mail just remains empty. Any way to coax it into performing correctly. In set up I have it set to show sent mail on my computer and on MSN mail on line. Thanks for any advice.

  19. No. Thats the way it’s supposed to work. If you don’t tell it to save it, then it doesn’t, and there’s no way to get it.

  23. Hotmail is not like Gmail, whereas Gmail will help you record your sent messages, leaving you the benefit of checking what you have sent.

  25. Hi

I recently created a new email address to use on windows live messenger.

However when I sign in with my new account it does not alert me to new emails but it does show them in the windows live today box.

Its quite annoying as I have to keep checking the live today box to see if I have new mail as it does not even display how many new emails I have on the mail icon under my name.

Any help as to how to fix this would be appreciated.

    Thanks
