how do i install outlook express
Same as the reinstall described at the top of the page you just commented on.
Outlook Express comes up & but has the space where the e-mail usually is, is empty. When I click on an address or “tools”/etc, it tells me it is “not responding”. This happened about 2 weeks ago. Please Help.

I use to have outlook express on my computer. I recently had my computer reformated. I don’t remember which one I had. I think possibly the 6.0 version not sure. What do I download. It was free.

How can I install Outlook Express on my laptop so that it opens in the same window as my desktop? Can I do that? So I get all the messages on both machines like I get with Yahoo? Thanks.
If I undestand what you’re asking … you can’t. Outlook Express is a separate program, and always opens in its own window.
I was searching for other programs and I think that I erased the Outlook Express icon. how can I reinstall it?
I can not open outlook express at all. And before when i could open it, it still wouldn’t let me it said something about “outlook express is incorrectly installed” but i don’t know how to do that. It would be realy good if you could help me that would be wonderful.

Follow the instructions in the article to download and install Internet Explorer, and OE will be installed with it.
I have the same problem with Outlook Express “not responding” but when I try and download IE, the setup stops telling me that there is a newer version of IE already working on my computer. How do I remove the new version so that I can download IE and hopefully fix Outlook Express??

1) give it time … it’s not always obvious that it’s working … searching can take time.
2) are you sure that you’ve selected the appropriate folders that you expect to find things in?
3) it’s certainly possible that what you’re looking for isn’t there.
when Iinstalled outlook express I put incorrect server names and i do notknow how to get back to this site to correct
I had a crash and after that half of all my e-mails were gone from Inbox, the first half are all there in the folders, the rest are gone, and the other folders are empty. The last folder that has e-mails contains this message:
“Message could not be displayed
Outlook Express encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.
——————-Outlook Express”
My computer was checked and it is determined that there is plenty of memory.

We are getting the error message, “Outlook express could not be started because another instance of it is still running on your computer”. I have followed your instructions up top (installing newest version of IE) but no change. There are actually two error messages we are getting. When we click the OE icon, OE opens up in the Local Folders screen and a pop up message says, “The folder could not be created. A folder name must contain at least one character.” Then when we click the “OK” button, the error mentioned above pops up. When we click the “OK” button there, the 1st message pops up and it turns out to be an endless cycle that can only be ended through “End Task” in Task Manager. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
NOTE: You must be logged on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group in order to perform this procedure.
Click Start , click Run , and then type the following command:
%systemroot%\inf
NOTE : There are no spaces at all in the preceding command line.
Click OK to open the INF folder.
Locate the file MSOE50.inf .
Right-click the file, and then click Install . This will reinstall the files that Outlook Express needs to proceed normally.
It will ask you to put your windows XP cd in the drive, just browse to the i386 folder when requested.

You do not have your SMTP server name configured correctly. Check with the settings you would have gotten from your ISP and make sure that your mail program is configured properly.

I know I have the right pop3 and smtp. I have other computers and the email works on those. When I add other emails to the outlook express they dont work either. I have reinstalled outlook express and it still does not work. I then tried installing IE 7.0 but no help there either. I sure could use some help. thanks

I need your help.
I’m using Outlook Express for many years.
Yesterday when I check my in-box….I noticed that I cant delete e mails that I dont want to keep any more.
Also…each time I try opening new received e mails (as well as old mails), the following window showed up. : ” OUTLOOK EXPRESS WAS UNABLE TO SEND A RECEIPT ” ………when I click on send and receive….I get the following error window : ” AN UNKNOWN ERROR ACCURED – ERROR # 0x800c0133 ” preventing me to load my e mails from my server.
Seems my outlook express been freezed ! Is there any way to fix or repair this problem???

I am trying to update XP home edition to sp2. The update will not take, keeps hanging at WABMIG.exe installation. This is related to Outlook Express I think, but I cannot get Outlook express to install. I’ve tried reinstalling Internet Explorer and still no luck. There are a couple utilities I want to run on this PC, but I need to have service pack 2 installed, but can’t get that installed until I get this WABMIG.exe issue resolved.
Any ideas??

Besides using legal Windows XP, with this method, there are missing files, i.e. sol.exe for soletaire game. I don’t download games. Is there a web-page to download the 6.0 OE re-install program?

I have a little ASUS with a 4 gb HDD. I managed to get a stripped down version of windows to run it but the Ie6 didn’t have outlook express.
After struggling with portable email clients I decided to go back to OE and storing the data on the external HDD.
So I downloaded IE7 (because I understood it to have OE6)
It hasn’t and I don’t know how to get it.

I somehow changed my outlook express to microsoft office outlook. Cannot access my mail. How do I change back to outlook express.
