Term: VPS

VPS is an acronym for Virtual Private Server.

A VPS is a virtual machine sold (or more correctly leased) from a cloud services provider. A VPS “looks like” a completely stand-alone dedicated physical machine, but in reality is typically one of several virtual machines co-located on and sharing more powerful hardware.

Ask Leo! is currently running on a VPS provided by Liquid Web.
