BigBlueBall – Help for Instant Messaging and more

Instant messaging is a popular topic of Ask Leo! questions, second only to email related issues, I would guess. BigBlueBall is a resource for both the latest news and support for all popular IM clients and technologies.

From the site:

Like many people, technology has helped me keep in touch with friends and family. I’ve used technology to collaborate with associates, co-workers and clients. But I couldn’t find one, comprehensive web site that covered all the different messaging, collaboration and networking technologies: AOL Instant Messenger, Windows Live Messener, Meebo, Digsby, Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk, Trillian, Gaim, Jabber… the list goes on.

And so, BigBlueBall.com was born.

While BigBlueBall includes lots of informative news and other articles, the biggest value I see for people that come to me is it’s extensive support forum which includes help for many, if not most, of the common problems people experience with various IM clients. The Windows Live Messenger FAQ alone is worth a visit.

When I first came across BilBlueBall they were primarily about instant messaging. In the years since, they’ve expanded into social media and mobile topics as well.

If you have a problem, or are just looking for information, Big Blue Ball is worth a visit.

I recommend it.

when ever i make voice calls, (yahoo / gtalk / aim voice chat), the other person says my voice is horrible (like a demon or something). it’s not headphones, i checked on another m/c & they are fine. there is seems to be a problem with my laptop. my speakers are perfect. it’s just that i can’t talk to other person on voice chat..
i checked my sound drivers & they don’t have a problem. i ran a virus scan, ad-aware, spybot check. still no respite..
